This speaking partner is an AI-powered English fluency companion for IELTS preparation and conversation practice. It runs a full-duplex voice conversation: the learner can interrupt mid-reply, and the reply halts immediately.
A five-phase session, scored against a real rubric.
Each session runs a fixed five-phase structure: greeting, a Part 1 interview, a Part 2 story, a Part 3 discussion, and a conclusion. Silence is detected at 500 ms, with listening nudges so the conversation doesn't stall. Scoring runs on a CEFR-aligned IELTS rubric, 0 to 9 bands across Fluency, Vocabulary, Grammar and Pronunciation. Corrections cite the actual sentence the learner said, and the action plan is forbidden from being generic — it has to reference the transcript's own errors.
It remembers the learner, not just the session.
It remembers a learner's previous Part 2 themes to avoid repeating them and to enable callbacks in later sessions. Every session ends with a summary dashboard showing scores and a transcript visualiser.
