The standard we aim at

This site targets WCAG 2.1 level AA.

What we have checked

Text contrast has been measured on every page, at desktop and phone widths, with semi-transparent colours composited against the background they actually sit on rather than judged from their flat values. It shows no AA failures.

Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, and a skip link at the top goes straight to the content. In the products section on the home page, the numbered buttons move between products, and moving focus to a product’s links brings that product into view.

Every link, button and form field shows a visible focus outline.

Buttons and links are at least 44 pixels tall, except the links in the footer, which are 20. Links inside running text are exempt, as WCAG allows.

The contact form labels every field, explains an error in words next to the field it belongs to, and announces “sending” and “sent” to screen readers.

Motion

The site honours the reduced-motion setting on your device. With it on, the line that runs through each page is drawn complete and stands still, the products section on the home page becomes an ordinary list, and the product demos show their final state instead of playing.

Without it, no animation runs for longer than two plays without stopping by itself.

The line

The line drawn through every page is decoration, and it is hidden from screen readers. Nothing it shows exists only in the drawing: where a closed or open loop marks a product as live or still being built, the same thing is written in words beside it.

What we know is imperfect

The landing animation on the home page is decorative and hidden from screen readers. The wordmark and tagline behind it are real, readable text, so nothing is lost to assistive technology, but the animation itself is not described, and a screen reader user will not know what it looks like.

The products section on the home page holds still while you scroll through it, one product at a time. Some people find scroll-driven movement like this disorienting. Turning on reduced motion replaces it with a plain list.

How to report a barrier

If something on this site is hard to use with a keyboard, a screen reader, or any other assistive technology, tell us at hello@miniantlabs.com. We reply within two working days.

Little by little, something great.
