Who we are

This site, miniantlabs.com, is run by Miniant Labs Limited, registered at 5th Floor, 218/3 Begum Rokeya Sharani, West Kafrul, Mirpur, Dhaka-1207, Bangladesh. We are responsible for the data described below, and hello@miniantlabs.com reaches the people who can answer for it.

What we collect

Cloudflare Pages serves every request to this site and, like any host, sees the visitor’s IP address in the process. When analytics is on for your visit, Google Analytics records how the site is used; see “Analytics” below. Beyond that, the only data this site asks a visitor for is what is typed into the contact form: name (optional), email (required) and a message (required). See “The contact form” below for where that goes.

Why we collect it

To answer you, and to learn which parts of this site are useful. If you write to us, we use your name, address and message to reply and to follow the conversation through. Analytics tells us which pages are read and which links are used, in aggregate. We do not build a profile on you, we do not sell or rent anyone’s details, and we do not add you to a mailing list you did not ask to join.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, a service of Google LLC, to see which pages are visited, how visitors arrive, and which links and buttons get used. It records the pages you view, the site that sent you, your approximate location (worked out from your IP address, which Google says it does not store), your device and browser type, and clicks on things such as the product links and the contact form. It never sees what you type into the contact form.

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics stays off unless you choose Accept on the notice this site shows you there. Until you do, and if you decline, your browser does not load Google Analytics at all and nothing is sent to Google. Everywhere else, analytics is on by default.

Wherever you are, you can change your answer at any time with “Privacy choices” at the foot of every page. Turning analytics off stops it from that point on and deletes the Google Analytics cookies already set.

The contact form

A submission goes to a small function running on this domain, which hands it to Resend, the email provider we use, who deliver it to hello@miniantlabs.com. Your address is attached as the reply-to, so replying reaches you. Resend handles the message in transit, under their own terms.

Browser storage

When analytics is on, Google Analytics sets two cookies: _ga, which tells one visitor from another, and _ga_ followed by our property’s ID, which keeps a single visit together. Both last up to two years. This site also remembers your answer to the analytics question in local storage, under ml-consent, so it does not ask again; it holds only the word “granted” or “denied”. Nothing else is stored in your browser.

Third parties

Google Analytics, described above, is one. When it is on, your browser loads it from www.googletagmanager.com and sends its measurements to Google.

The main site self-hosts its web fonts, so browsing it makes no request to Google for fonts. The home page is the exception: it embeds a landing animation as an iframe, and that animation loads three third-party resources at runtime. Those are Google Fonts (from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com), three.js from cdn.jsdelivr.net, and GSAP from cdnjs.cloudflare.com. Each of those three providers receives the visitor’s IP address when the home page loads, in the same way any server does when it is asked for a file.

Where the data goes

Cloudflare serves this site from a global network, so your request is usually handled by whichever of its servers is nearest to you, which may be outside Bangladesh and outside your own country. The three providers named above work the same way. That is how a content delivery network delivers a page quickly, and it applies to browsing this site whether or not you ever write to us. Google processes analytics data on its own servers, which may be in the United States.

Our products are separate

This policy covers this website only. Let’s Math and Miniant Games are products with their own privacy policies, and those are the documents that govern them. What you type or photograph into a product is handled under its policy, not this one.

How long we keep things

A message you send us lives in the hello@miniantlabs.com mailbox for as long as the conversation is useful to either of us, and is deleted when it is not. It is not copied into a database, a customer record or a mailing list, because we do not keep any of those.

What you can ask us to do

These are things we will do on request, for anyone, wherever you live, and without asking why you want them. Write to hello@miniantlabs.com and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Unless you have written to us, the honest answer to the first of those is “nothing we can tie to you”: analytics data sits with Google under a random identifier, not your name or email. To stop analytics, use “Privacy choices” at the foot of any page.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. We do not keep an archive of earlier versions, so if a particular version matters to you, keep your own copy.
